Decided to sleep in and was thankful that I was able to get some good rest. Usually I’m up and down all night, going to the bathroom or hearing something outside that startles me awake but this morning I slept in and felt great. So I hesitated to eat or drink anything and then stepped on the scale and it showed 214.2 which isn’t a lot but better than gaining. About 20 minutes later I took a seat on my throne then decided to step back on the scale again. Yes my weight did change again. It showed my weight was now 213.8, which means that in only 2 days of eating only potatoes, I lost 6.2 pounds.
That is incredible, I’ve never lost weight this easily or quickly. Well, let me take back the first part of the statement. It hasn’t exactly been easy because although I’ve only been on the diet for 2 whole days I was desperately trying to figure out a way to eat the potatoes and image I was really, enjoying them.
Oh wait a minute, I was enjoying them because all of the time that I’ve done the Primal or Paleo, I’ve had to cut out potatoes which has always been a bummer but not this time. Don’t get me wrong, I like potatoes I just wish that I could add some butter or salt to them, my taste buds are really craving these things.
Let’s see, according to Tim, I can be on this type of eating plan for 3-5 days and then take a break and start back up when the week begins again. That doesn’t sound too bad. Then I looked at the scale again and decided that I would see where this third day of potatoes was going to take me.
By this time I’ve broken out my more expensive Kona coffee pods and have resorted to drink this because it is less bitter and a touch more flavorful than my Kona coffee blend. I figure since I’m drinking the coffee black, I best get a good tasting coffee. Speaking of coffee, it makes me yearn for my own iced coffee with artificial sweetener, flavored coffee syrup and heavy whipping cream in place of milk. Hey lactose intolerant here but for some reason I can digest heavy whipping cream so it is the cream in my coffee. Like I said I am really craving all of those additives and it makes me think that maybe tomorrow I will take a quick break and have a cup of coffee my way, or maybe not.
So the airfryer is out and doing the cooking again along with my microwave. I know this may sound weird but so far my very favorite potato is the russet potato, mainly because I nuke it and make it a baked potato and cook it long enough so it is very thoroughly cooked and the inside of the potato is nice and creamy although it has no salt/pepper/butter added to it. Of course since the skin is a nutritious part of the potato I eat the skin.
I think the hardest thing so far, other than trying to convince my taste buds they do not require salt, is trying to keep my diet from the people at work. I’m sure you all have someone there who knows everything and is an expert in everything. Trying to correct her is harder than trying to ice skate in hell because she is always correct even when she isn’t but it is easier to just walk away. My only benefit is that she is not going to be here for the rest of my work week so I can catch a break. So you’re probably wondering why I’m glad she’s not there, well it is because I’m sure she would come up with something to show that I was doing it wrong or that it was horrible to only eat potatoes. Right now I’m just happy to be eating my potatoes and doing my best to enjoy them when I reheat them.
Yes, yes, I know many people have them cold, but like I said before, it doesn’t seem as if there are any set rules in cement so I’m just kind of winging it. I noticed something else, I’ve been eating my potatoes late at night after I get off work because I’m hungry and so far I’ve still been successful with just eating potatoes and making the best of things and I’ve yet to gain but I’m sure it will be coming up soon.
STILL LOOSING! I like saying that and here’s hoping that will continue.
